Aesto Security Incident: What Happened?

Aesto Health, a healthcare technology and support company based in Alabama, has disclosed a data breach involving the sensitive information of its clients.

According to a notice posted to its website on June 24, 2026, Aesto detected a network security incident impacting a portion of its Amazon Web Services infrastructure on December 18, 2025. Following a forensic investigation and document review, the company determined on May 26, 2026 that certain protected health information related to its clients that had been stored within Aesto's network was potentially acquired by an unauthorized actor between December 2 and December 18, 2025.

Information affected by the Aesto Health data breach may have included names, dates of birth, medical information, financial account numbers, health insurance information, taxpayer identification numbers, government identification numbers and Social Security numbers. The degree of information impacted varied per individual.

Aesto began notifying its covered entity clients of the incident on June 26, 2026, including the institutions identified here. A sample notification letter sent to individuals affiliated with its clients that may have been impacted by the breach can be seen below.

The Aesto data breach was also reported to the Vermont Attorney General's Office on July 31, 2026.
