Yes. The settlement is legit, and a court-approved website—AccuFitClassAction.com—was established to inform consumers about the proposed deal and provide a platform where they can file a settlement claim form, learn about the lawsuit and contact the LensCrafters settlement administrator, Kroll Settlement Administration, LLC.

Is There a Deadline?

When Would I Get Paid from the LensCrafters Settlement?
It is unclear when the payout date would be for the LensCrafters AccuFit settlement. Payments from the settlement will not be issued until the court decides whether to officially approve the deal.
A final approval hearing was held on February 26, 2024. Class members may begin to receive payments if and when the deal is approved and after any appeals are resolved.
What Was the LensCrafters AccuFit Class Action Lawsuit About?
According to several class action lawsuits filed in 2017 against Luxottica Retail North America, which operates LensCrafters, the AccuFit Digital Measurement System was rolled out around 2011 and marketed as able to measure consumers’ eyes with “five times” more accuracy than traditional pupillary distance measurement methods.
However, despite the representations, the AccuFit system relies on “decades-old technology” that is no more precise than standard methods, the LensCrafters class action lawsuits said.
The cases charged that AccuFit’s accuracy claims are false and have misled consumers to overpay for LensCrafters eyeglasses that don’t fulfill their advertised promises.
The LensCrafters settlement detailed on this page was preliminarily approved by the court in September 2023.
