Navy Federal Credit Union is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a California consumer who claims the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing calls to his cell phone without his prior consent. The plaintiff says he held a credit card account and a loan with the defendant and that his attorney sent the company a cease and desist letter demanding that it cease all communication with the man. After acknowledging the letter, the defendant allegedly called the plaintiff using automated dialing technology, in violation of the TCPA.
