Residential and commercial security companies Guardian Protection Services, Inc. and Security Force, Inc. are facing a class action claiming the companies violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Filed in Pennsylvania, the suit alleges the defendants placed unsolicited calls advertising their services to consumers’ cell phones using automated dialing equipment that utilized a prerecorded message. Under the TCPA, businesses are banned from initiating telephone calls via an automated dialing system without first receiving written consent.
