Chiropractic Center of Los Angeles has filed a class action against Technological Medical Advancements LLC over its practice of sending unsolicited junk faxes. Filed in California, the lawsuit says the defendant, which sells a high-powered pain relief laser to doctors nationwide, sends out unconsented faxes advertising and marketing the product. The faxes, the plaintiff claims, also advertise that the defendants can teach medical professionals about its laser product through “no-fee” seminars. According to the complaint, “. . . the main purpose of the defendant’s faxes and seminars is to introduce [the defendant] and its product to potential customers and solicit them” to buy or lease the laser.
