Pillpack, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unsolicited text messages to consumers’ cell phones without their prior consent.
Pillpack, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unsolicited text messages to consumers’ cell phones without their prior consent. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff never agreed to receive automated text messages from the defendant but on October 26, 2017 was contacted via text with an offer regarding the defendant’s medicine delivery services. The case claims the text was sent using automated dialing technology and wasn’t made for "emergency purposes.”
