A proposed class action citing alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) has been filed against Paul Michael Associates. According to the complaint, the defendant sent collection letters that failed to clearly and accurately identify the creditor to whom the plaintiffs’ debts were owed. This practice, the case argues, could cause the least sophisticated consumer to be confused as to who truly owns the debt.
