Electricity and natural gas supplied Starion Energy, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action filed over alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The lawsuit, filed in Florida, claims the defendant engaged in aggressive mass telemarketing in which it placed calls to consumers across the U.S. through without first receiving prior express written consent to receive the automated calls. The robocalls, the case continues, were allegedly part of campaign to get consumers to switch their energy services over to those provided by the defendant.
