Man Claims Debt Collection Letter from Alltran Financial Missing Information

Alltran Financial, LP (formerly known as United Recovery Systems, L.P.) is facing a proposed class action filed by a New York man who claims the defendant sent him a misleading debt collection letter. Citing alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the complaint argues that the defendant’s letter informed the plaintiff of his balance, but neglected to mention whether the amount would increase due to interest or other added fees. As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff “was left unsure” as to how much he truly owed and what actions to take to settle his account.
