Florida
JTH Tax, Inc. (which does business as Liberty Tax Service) is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that alleges violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
“To boost its profits, Liberty Tax engages in unsolicited fax marketing, with no regard for the expense to recipients or recipients’ other rights,” the complaint reads.
The plaintiff in the case, Broward Psychology P.A., claims the defendant sent it a fax advertisement containing information promoting the defendant’s tax preparation services. The fax was allegedly sent without the plaintiff’s prior consent and therefore violated federal law.
