Jzanus Ltd. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims the debt collector failed to clearly identify a consumer’s creditor. According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a collection letter from the defendant indicating that she owed a debt and that its “Client” was “Beth Israel Medical Center.” The suit argues that Jzanus failed to specifically name any entity as the plaintiff’s creditor and that “mere allusions to the creditor’s identity” do not meet requirements set forth under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
