A proposed class action out of New York claims defendant Client Services, Inc. violated the terms of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
A proposed class action out of New York claims defendant Client Services, Inc. violated the terms of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) “unfair and unconscionable” debt collection tactics. The lawsuit alleges the defendant sent a collection letter for an unpaid tuition balance that did not disclose whether the balance owed would increase due to the accrual of interest and/or fees. The suit says this could lead the least sophisticated consumer to wrongly believe he or she had paid the debt in full then in reality the debt was continually accruing interest.
