Client Services, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that alleges violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The suit claims the debt collector sent the plaintiff a collection letter that failed to indicate whether the balance stated in the letter would increase due to interest or other charges, or whether the interest would be waived. The plaintiff argues that the letter was “misleading” because it neglected to clearly state the amount of the alleged debt, thereby hindering the plaintiff from making calculated payments to settle the account.
