Alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) are at the center of a proposed class action case filed in Wisconsin against Account Control Systems, Inc. The plaintiff claims the New Jersey-headquartered company mailed her a collection letter in June 2017 over a supposedly defaulted debt that failed to unambiguously identify the woman’s creditor and the entity on whose behalf Account Control Systems was attempting to collect.
“The Letter deprived [the plaintiff] of truthful, non-misleading [sic] information in connection with [the defendant’s] attempt to collect a debt,” the suit claims.
