The incident, which involved unauthorized access to the school's network, resulted in the exposure of sensitive data such as full names, Social Security numbers, medical details, health insurance information, dates of birth, account credentials, and driver's license numbers.
Following the discovery of the breach, York County School of Technology undertook an investigation to assess the extent of the unauthorized access and potential data exfiltration. The investigation concluded on March 15, 2024, confirming that certain data may have been accessed and acquired by a malicious actor on or around March 27, 2023.
The school is now notifying affected individuals about the York County School of Technology data breach.
