According to a notice posted on the healthcare provider’s website, JBS was targeted in a ransomware attack on November 25, 2025, during which an unauthorized third party gained access to its network and certain files that potentially related to patients or employees from 2011 to 2025.
The Jefferson-Blount-St. Clair Mental Health Authority data breach may have exposed names, Social Security numbers, health insurance information and dates of birth. Medical billing or claims data, diagnoses, treatment or prescription details, medical record numbers, Medicare or Medicaid data and other health information may also have been involved in the JBS Mental Health Authority data breach.
JBS is a non-profit organization that provides mental health, substance abuse and intellectual disability services to patients in Alabama’s Jefferson, Blount and St. Clair counties.
