HealthFirst Bluegrass, a multispecialty healthcare system serving the Lexington, Kentucky area, has disclosed a data breach linked to a security incident at data migration and archiving company Aesto Health.
A sample notice letter sent to affected individuals, shown below, states that Aesto experienced a network security issue affecting some of its Amazon Web Services infrastructure between December 2 and 18, 2025, which resulted in the exposure of certain information about individuals associated with its clients, including HealthFirst Bluegrass.
According to an August 27, 2026 report filed with the Vermont Attorney General's Office, the HealthFirst Bluegrass data breach affected Social Security numbers and health records. The aforementioned notice discloses that names may have also been exposed in the incident.
