Facebook Ends Three-Year Legal Battle with Policy Changes

Facebook has agreed to change its policies when it comes to accommodating refunds to minors, ending a class action from millions of the social network’s users. The lawsuit claimed that Facebook violated federal and state laws when minors mistakenly spent their parents’ money on Facebook credits in online games and apps. Facebook will now include a clause in its agreements that say the company recognizes that transactions with minors might be made invalid under the law and that they agree to refund money spent unknowingly by minors. The settlement doesn’t include a monetary award to class members - the court found that the change to the refund policy is a fair resolution to the case.
