Attorneys working with ClassAction.org have opened an Uponor PEX lawsuit investigation to determine whether a new class action can be filed on behalf of people whose homes contain the allegedly defective piping.
Several lawsuits have already been filed claiming Uponor AquaPEX piping, which is used for potable water plumbing systems in residential properties, degrades prematurely, leading to cracking, leaks, flooding and property damage. According to the lawsuits, Uponor has failed to issue a PEX recall or otherwise address the problem, and homeowners are often left to deal with leak after leak before ultimately having to completely repipe their homes.
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are now looking into a new Uponor PEX class action—but they first need to hear from more homeowners affected by Uponor PEX issues.

Uponor PEX Lawsuit Update
At least two class action lawsuits have been filed over Uponor piping, each claiming the cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing is defective and can develop cracks and leaks well before the end of its expected lifespan.
One Uponor PEX lawsuit filed in July 2021 sought to cover only Colorado homeowners and was dismissed in October 2024 after the parties reached a private settlement.
A more recent Uponor PEX class action was filed in May 2025 and seeks to cover homeowners in California whose properties contain or contained Uponor PEX red, blue or white piping manufactured and installed anytime since 2010. That case is still pending, with Uponor having filed a motion to compel arbitration in July 2025.
Now, the attorneys working with ClassAction.org want to hear from homeowners across the country who experienced problems with their Uponor PEX piping as they determine whether a new Uponor PEX class action can be filed.
What Problems Do the Uponor PEX Lawsuits Allege?
The Uponor PEX lawsuits claim homeowners have experienced cracking, leaking, flooding and other issues due to premature degradation of the PEX tubing in their homes.
According to the lawsuits, Uponor PEX is plagued by several manufacturing and design defects that contribute to pipe failure, including the following:
- Uneven application of antioxidants to the piping, resulting in some areas being more vulnerable to oxidation (i.e., when oxygen combines with the polyethylene and changes its chemical structure, making it weaker)
- Heat-based application of red and blue coatings to the outside of the tubing, which destroys the antioxidants protecting the outside surface of the PEX
- Defectively designed fittings that put stress on the pipes at the edges of the reinforcement rings and can cause cracking
The lawsuits claim Uponor knew about and failed to disclose the alleged defects to consumers, distributors, contractors and building officials.
Even after homeowners reported leaks and other issues with the now-discontinued Uponor PEX, the company has allegedly denied claims for refunds or reimbursement for repairs, often blaming the failures on installation errors or high water pressure or temperatures, according to the lawsuits.
To date, no Uponor PEX recall has been issued.
How Could an Uponor PEX Class Action Help?
A lawsuit could help compensate homeowners for repair costs and property damage that may have been caused by Uponor PEX failures. It could also force the company to issue a recall or otherwise fix the problem.
