Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn Security Incident: What Happened?
Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn Associates, with locations in Carbondale and Herrin, has reported a data breach to the Department of Health and Human Services affecting 38,700 people.
According to a sample notification letter (pictured below), the Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn Associates data breach was first detected on November 24, 2025. An investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts, concluding on or around January 28, 2026, established that an unauthorized party may have viewed and/or downloaded data from Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn’s systems.
A letter sent to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office states that, as determined by a review of the potentially impacted files, names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, demographic information, health insurance numbers, and health information may have been compromised in the Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn data breach.
