Motility Software Solutions Security Incident: What Happened?
On September 12, 2025, The Reynolds and Reynolds Company reported a data security incident at its subsidiary, Motility Software Solutions. Motility, which specializes in software for specialty dealerships, detected unusual activity on its network on August 19, prompting the company to take the affected server offline, engage cybersecurity professionals and notify law enforcement.
The ongoing investigation has revealed that personal information, including names, birthdates, driver's license numbers, and Social Security numbers, of around 760,000 consumers was accessed in the Motility Software Solutions data breach. The company is in the process of notifying those impacted.
