Florida Credit Union Security Incident: What Happened?
Florida Credit Union (FCU) was reportedly impacted by a ransomware attack on Marquis Software Solutions, a third-party vendor that provides marketing, analytics services and compliance software to financial institutions and mortgage lenders.
After learning of unusual activity on its network on August 14, 2025, Marquis launched an investigation that revealed that an unauthorized party had gained access to its systems and potentially obtained certain files stored therein.
The Marquis Software Solutions data breach may have compromised information the company received from numerous customers, including Florida Credit Union. The data breach notice issued by Marquis to impacted individuals, a sample of which can be found below, states that the incident was limited to its own systems and did not affect the networks of the clients it serves.
According to a letter sent to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, the data breach may have exposed consumer information including names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers and financial account details.
FCU is based in Gainesville, Florida, and serves northern and central parts of the state.
