Bradford Health Services Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Bradford Health Services data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Bradford Health Services Security Incident: What Happened?
Bradford Health Services has announced a data breach that could affect the personal and medical information of some current and former employees and patients. The incident was detected on December 8, 2023, when the company noticed unusual network activity. Working with cybersecurity experts, Bradford Health discovered that some files on its network might have been accessed without authorization. After investigating, it was determined by May 15, 2025 that certain personal and protected health information may have been compromised.
The information exposed in the Bradford Health Services data breach may include names, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, medical information (such as diagnosis, treatment details, physician names, and medical record numbers), health insurance information, financial account numbers, passport numbers, payment card numbers with "a means of access to the account," and Social Security numbers.
Bradford Health Services, which operates at least 28 addiction treatment centers across Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas, has sent written notifications to those impacted by the incident via US mail as of May 30, 2025.
A report from DataBreaches.net states that ransomware group Hunters International added Bradford Health to its dark web leak site on January 4, 2024. The group reportedly provided a sample of patient and employee data, though it could not be confirmed whether the rest of the stolen information was leaked.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
