As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Blank Rome data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Blank Rome Security Incident: What Happened?
Blank Rome, providing legal services to clients across the United States and internationally, has reported a data breach resulting from a phishing incident.
According to a sample notification letter (pictured below), an unauthorized actor, posing as Blank Rome’s IT department, tricked an attorney into uploading files to an external Google Drive account.
A review of the files involved determined on or around May 28, 2026 whose information was contained within them. The information compromised in the Blank Rome data breach includes names, Social Security numbers, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, taxpayer ID numbers, driver’s license numbers, state and other government-issued ID card numbers, financial account numbers, payment card information, medical information, and health insurance information.
Blank Rome is notifying those affected by mail.
