Arkansas Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AOMS), a dental practice serving central Arkansas for over 60 years, has disclosed a data breach involving sensitive patient information.
According to an August 4, 2026 notice posted to its website, AOMS became aware of potential unauthorized access to its computers on April 7 of the same year. Following an investigation, the practice determined on June 2, 2026 that an unauthorized party acquired files containing patient information.
The information exposed during the AOMS data breach varied per individual but potentially included government identification numbers, such as Social Security numbers, names, contact information, dates of birth, medical record numbers, diagnosis information, treatment records, health insurance information, prescription history and payment information.
AOMS began sending mailed notices to individuals potentially impacted by the incident, a sample of which can be seen below.
The Arkansas Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons data breach was also reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on August 4.
