Wood River Health Security Incident: What Happened?
Wood River Health, a medical, dental and behavioral health care provider in Rhode Island, has disclosed a data breach involving an employee email account. An investigation, assisted by external experts, revealed that an unauthorized individual accessed the account between August 8 and September 6, 2024. A review of affected files, concluded on May 29, 2025, identified the compromised information, which may include names, medical information, health insurance details, financial account information, digital signatures, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and more.
The Wood River Health data breach affected 54,926 individuals, as reported to the Maine Attorney General's Office. Notices are now being sent to those impacted by the incident.
