Wilson Automotive Security Incident: What Happened?
Several auto dealerships operated by Wilson Automotive, which has locations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Mexico, have reported a data breach that may have compromised personal information. Unusual network activity was discovered on August 30, 2024, prompting an investigation with the help of third-party specialists. It was determined that an unauthorized party had accessed the dealerships' network between August 21 and August 30, 2024.
Right Toyota in Scottsdale, Arizona; Weir Canyon Honda in Anaheim, California; and Gardena Honda in Gardena, California have each reported the Wilson Automotive data breach to state attorneys general and indicated that they would be sending personalized notices to affected individuals with more information about the incident, including which types of information may have been exposed.
