Reports Emerge of Possible Wesco Security Incident
Wesco International, the holding company for the major electrical distributor and servicer Wesco Distribution, may have suffered a data breach.
A July 27, 2026 post on cybersecurity blog DeXpose.io states that ransomware group ExfilSquad claimed responsibility for the suspected attack and reported having obtained approximately 2.6 million records containing customer information, employee information and other sensitive data. The site estimated that the potential attack occurred on July 26, 2026.
Dark web monitoring platform Ransomware.live similarly suggested that ExfilSquad was behind the suspected Wesco data breach, noting that the group allegedly exfiltrated 40 gigabytes of data from the company.
At the time this post was made, no additional information about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Wesco International data breach was available.
