Walser Automotive Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Walser Automotive Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Walser Automotive Group, which operates various car dealerships in Minnesota and Kansas, experienced a technical event in May 2024 that disrupted some of its systems. Upon discovering the outages, Walser initiated containment, restoration, and investigation efforts. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access to certain systems occurred between May 14 and May 16 of this year, potentially compromising stored personal information.
The company reported that names and Social Security numbers may have been accessed in the Walser Automotive Group data breach. Additional details, such as driver’s license numbers, passport information, and financial account information, could also have been exposed if documents containing this information were stored within the company’s environment.
It’s been reported that the ransomware group Play may have initiated the attack and posted compromised information online.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Walser Automotive Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
