UMass Dartmouth Security Incident: What Happened?
On June 16, 2025, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth reported a data breach affecting 75,357 state residents to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. While specifics of the breach are limited, the report indicates that Social Security numbers, financial account information, driver's licenses and credit/debit card numbers were among the information exposed.
Letters are now being mailed to those affected by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth data breach. UMass Dartmouth is a national research university that offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees.
