According to an August 8, 2026 post on dark web security platform Ransomware.live, hacker group Storm was behind the alleged attack, which was estimated to have occurred the previous day.
DeXpose, another dark web monitoring site, similarly reported that Storm claimed to be responsible for an attack on United Group of Companies.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed United Group of Companies data breach.
