As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.

UFCW Security Incident: What Happened?

The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), a labor union representing 1.2 million members in the U.S. and Canada, has recently reported a data breach following unauthorized access to its email system.

On March 11, 2025, UFCW discovered the breach and took action to contain it, enlisting external cybersecurity experts to secure the systems and investigate the scope of the incident. The investigation into the UFCW data breach, completed by April 8, 2025, identified that some accessed email items and files included personal data such as full names and, according to a report submitted to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, Social Security numbers.
