Ultramobile Imaging Security Incident: What Happened?
Ultramobile Imaging (UMI), a Rochester, New York-based provider of X-rays, ultrasounds and other diagnostic imaging services, has reported a data breach that may have exposed sensitive information.
According to a September 25, 2026 notice posted to its website, UMI experienced a network disruption that impacted certain systems on or around July 30 of the same year. Following an investigation with computer forensic specialists, the healthcare provider determined that certain information stored on its network was subject to unauthorized access for a limited period of time.
While Ultramobile Imaging's review of the potentially affected information is ongoing, the company has so far determined that the incident may have exposed personal and protected health information. Varying by individual, this included names, diagnoses, lab results, medications, addresses, phone numbers, races, genders, dates of birth, driver's licenses, Social Security numbers, dates of service, Study IDs, procedure types, CPT codes, ordering physicians, claims information, financial account information and facility names.
A report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on September 25, 2026 indicates that the Ultramobile Imaging data breach affected at least 75,000 individuals nationwide.
