The Center for Advanced Eye Care, offering ophthalmology services in Delaware and Pennsylvania, has reported a data breach involving potential unauthorized access to personal information. On December 16, 2025, the practice discovered that its legacy system was compromised by an unauthorized actor. After discovering the incident, the company secured the system and enlisted a cybersecurity firm to investigate.
The investigation revealed that certain protected health information within the legacy systems was accessed without permission. Following these findings, the Center for Advanced Eye Care conducted a review to identify the specific individuals and types of information compromised. On February 13, 2026, they completed the list of individuals to be notified.
According to a report submitted to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the Center for Advanced Eye Care data breach exposed Social Security numbers and medical records.
