Stock Development Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Stock Development data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Stock Development, a real estate developer in Southwest Florida, has notified individuals about a data breach that may have exposed the personal information of 13,147 people to unauthorized persons. Upon discovering unusual network activity on March 2, 2024, the company engaged cybersecurity experts and a data review firm to investigate and ascertain the extent of the exposure.
The investigation into the Stock Development data breach revealed that an unauthorized third party had access to the company's computer network between April 25, 2023 and March 2, 2024. The compromised data varies by individual but potentially includes individuals' full names, dates of birth, contact information, government identification numbers (such as Social Security and driver's license numbers), health details, health insurance information, and financial details such as bank account and routing numbers.
The company has since worked to determine accurate contact information for those affected and is mailing them data breach notices.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Stock Development to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
