Spear Physical Therapy Data Breach? Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of reports of a possible Spear Physical Therapy data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who believe their information may have been put at risk, including current and former Spear Physical Therapy patients and employees.
Reports Emerge of Possible Spear Physical Therapy Security Breach
Spear Physical Therapy, a large network of physical and occupational therapy clinics with locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, may have suffered a data breach.
According to a November 4, 2026 post on cybersecurity blog HookPhish, ransomware group Brain Cipher was behind the suspected attack, which was estimated to have occurred the same day.
Ransomware.live, another dark web monitoring site, similarly reported that Brain Cipher claimed to be responsible for an attack on the company behind SpearCenter.com. The Ransomware.live post includes a screenshot purportedly from Brain Cipher's dark web site, showing the group's claim that it exfiltrated over 40 gigabytes of data from the healthcare provider, including medical records, passports, driver's licenses, W-9 forms and other sensitive information.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Spear Physical Therapy data breach.
What You Can Do
If you're affiliated with Spear Physical Therapy and suspect your information could have been put at risk, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, lost time, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
