Emerging reports suggest that Smilepoint Dental Group, which operates 28 dental offices in Texas and New Mexico, may have experienced a data breach.
On May 12, 2026, dark web scraping site Ransomware.Live reported that threat actor Space Bears claims to have accessed a patient database containing Social Security numbers and medical histories. According to Ransomware.Live’s report, Space Bears also claims to have accessed Smilepoint's financial reports and EagleSoft database (a dental practice management software).
There has not yet been official confirmation of the reported Smilepoint Dental Group data breach.
