Slim CD Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Slim CD data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Slim CD, Inc., a processing gateway for electronic payments in the U.S. and Canada, reported a data breach potentially affecting 1,693,000 individuals. On June 15, 2024, Slim CD discovered suspicious activity in its computer environment, triggering an investigation assisted by a third-party specialist. The investigation revealed unauthorized access to the company's system from August 17, 2023 to June 15, 2024. This access may have allowed an unauthorized actor to view or obtain certain credit card information between June 14 and June 15, 2024.
The information exposed in the Slim CD data breach may have included names, addresses, credit card numbers, and card expiration dates for people who used a credit card at a merchant that uses the company's services. Slim CD is now sending notice to affected individuals.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Slim CD to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
