As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who believe their information may have been put at risk, including current and former Sharecare employees, patients and partners.
Reports Emerge of Possible Sharecare Security Incident
Emerging reports indicate that Sharecare, a major healthcare support company serving patients, providers, employers and insurers, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an August 14, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group ShinyHunters claimed to be responsible for an attack on Sharecare that allegedly resulted in the exposure of over 3.4 million Salesforce records containing personally identifiable information. The incident was estimated to have occurred the day before.
DeXpose, another dark web security platform, similarly reported that ShinyHunters was behind the alleged August 13 attack on the digital healthcare company behind AskMD.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Sharecare data breach.
