Secure Healthcare Information Management, a Pennsylvania-based provider of medical billing and health record management services for healthcare practices, has reported a data breach that may have exposed sensitive information.
According to an October 6, 2026 notice posted to its website, Secure Healthcare Information Management experienced a network disruption on July 17 of the same year. Following an investigation with cybersecurity experts, the company determined that personal information was accessed or acquired by an unauthorized actor sometime between July 6 and July 16.
On September 18, Secure Healthcare Information Management completed a review of the affected data and confirmed the scope of the incident.
Information that may have been exposed in the Secure Healthcare Information Management data breach included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
The company started sending notice of the incident to potentially impacted individuals by mail on the same day the site notice was posted.
