River City Security Incident: What Happened?
River City Data, a Minnesota-based company that provides document digitization and processing services to county court systems, hospitals, schools and other organizations, has reported a data breach involving sensitive personal and medical information.
According to a notice posted to its website, River City became aware that an unauthorized actor gained access to its environment on February 2, 2026. Following an investigation with cybersecurity experts, the company determined that the unknown third party had obtained data stored on its system between November 17, 2025 and January 15, 2026.
The information impacted by the River City Data data breach varied per individual but may have included patient names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, medical record numbers and health information.
River City began notifying affected individuals on June 26, 2026.
