According to the SEC filing, River discovered unauthorized activity on its network environment on June 19 of this year. It was determined that an unauthorized actor gained access days before, on June 16, deploying ransomware on some of its network.
An investigation into the nature and scope of the incident, aided by third-party specialists, is still underway. It has not yet been determined whether personally identifiable information was compromised in the River Bank & Trust data breach.
