Risk Management Services Security Incident: What Happened?
Risk Management Services, L.L.C. has experienced a data breach that involved unauthorized access to its systems, impacting 22,300 individuals. The Louisiana-based company, which provides administrative services for LCTA Mutual Holding Company and LCTA Workers’ Comp, discovered that a subcontractor's security oversight allowed an intruder to remotely connect to its network.
The Risk Management Services data breach may have exposed sensitive information, including full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, birth dates, and medical information. Importantly, Risk Management Services noted that the breach only applies to data maintained by the company on behalf of LCTA and that LCTA's own systems were not impacted.
