Precipio Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Precipio data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Precipio data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Precipio Security Incident: What Happened?
Precipio, Inc. has reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services a data breach that may have involved certain patient information. Precipio is a healthcare biotechnology company based in New Haven, Connecticut that specializes in cancer diagnostics.
Precipio said in a notice posted on its website that after it learned of unauthorized access to an employee’s cloud-based storage account, it initiated an investigation with the help of cybersecurity specialists. The investigation found that the account had been accessed without authorization on or around November 23, 2025 and that certain files stored therein had been copied.
The biotechnology company stated in its online letter that it is still reviewing the files that may have been affected and plans to provide additional notifications as appropriate after the review is finished.
The Precipio data breach may have impacted names, addresses and dates of birth, as well as medical information such as medical record numbers, clinical or treatment details, procedure and provider data, prescription information and health insurance details.
