On August 1, 2024, Pocahontas Medical Clinic, PA announced on its website that it will be notifying current and former clients about a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised their personal information.
The Arkansas medical group experienced a network security incident on May 30, 2024, where an unauthorized party accessed its network. The company shut down network access and engaged a specialized third-party forensic firm to help secure the environment and investigate the breach.
The investigation revealed that some personal information may have been compromised, including names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, diagnoses, treatment information, medications and health insurance details. The specific data affected varied between individuals, and not all data types were exposed for each person.
A total of 31,216 individuals have been affected by the Pocahontas Medical Clinic data breach, as reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
