One Medical Seniors Security Incident: What Happened?
Healthcare provider Amazon One Medical has disclosed a data breach involving information belonging to patients of One Medical Seniors and former patients of Iora Health.
In an online notice, One Medical stated that it learned on June 13, 2026 of unauthorized access to a third-party system used to store archived information for One Medical Seniors, which formerly operated as Iora Health before it was acquired by One Medical in 2021.
An ongoing investigation determined that, between June 8 and 11, 2026, an unauthorized agent was able to access patient files stored in the affected system. Other One Medical systems were not affected in the One Medical Seniors data breach.
Though the specific types of information compromised have not yet been enumerated, the ongoing investigation indicates that the affected data includes demographic and clinical records belonging to patients at One Medical Seniors or Iora Health clinics in Atlanta; Houston; Phoenix; Denver; Seattle; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Piedmont Triad, North Carolina.
On June 18, according to a post on dark web intelligence site Ransomware.live, threat actor ShinyHunters, who has taken credit for breaches of major companies like Instructure and Wynn Resorts, reportedly claimed that it had stolen over 8.8 TB of data from One Medical.
Those affected by the One Medical data breach will be notified by mail once the investigation is complete.
