Oculus Pathology Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Oculus Pathology data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Oculus Pathology data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Oculus Pathology Security Incident: What Happened?
Oculus Pathology, a Texas-based provider of diagnostic and clinical pathology services to healthcare facilities, has reported a data breach that may have exposed sensitive information.
According to an August 7, 2026 notice posted to its website, Oculus discovered suspicious activity potentially tied to an employee email account on April 1 of the same year. Following an investigation with third-party computer specialists, the healthcare company determined that between March 31 and April 2, certain employee email accounts were subject to unauthorized access.
After conducting a review of the affected data, Oculus determined that the incident potentially exposed personal information such as names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, tax identification numbers, financial account numbers with or without access information and payment card numbers with or without access information.
The Oculus Pathology data breach may have also impacted health information, including clinical information, provider names, health insurance policy and group numbers, medical diagnosis information, treatment locations, procedure information, medical treatment information, medical record numbers, Medicare numbers, patient IDs and prescription information.
Founded in 1948 as Clinical Pathology Associates, the healthcare company rebranded to Oculus Pathology in 2025 with a focus on modernization and specialty pathology services.
