Emerging reports suggest that National Kidney Registry, an organization that facilitates living-donor kidney transplants, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an August 25, 2026 post on dark web security site Ransomware.live, hacker group Dire Wolf was behind the suspected attack and reportedly exfiltrated 253 gigabytes of data from the company. The alleged attack was estimated to have occurred the same day the post was made.
Breachsense, another dark web monitoring site, similarly stated that Dire Wolf claimed to be behind an attack on National Kidney Registry.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed National Kidney Registry data breach.
