NCCER Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the NCCER data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the NCCER data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
NCCER Security Incident: What Happened?
The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a Florida-based organization that provides standardized training and credentials for construction trades, has reported a data breach affecting 15,193 people.
A letter sent to the Maine Attorney General's Office states that on March 21, 2025, NCCER discovered unauthorized activity on its network. An investigation into the incident confirmed that files had been exfiltrated without authorization. On or around June 20, 2025, NCCER commenced a data-mining review to identify compromised information and affected individuals. The initial and supplemental reviews, completed by April 12, 2026, determined that names and Social Security numbers were compromised in the National Center for Construction Education and Research data breach.
Those who may have been impacted by the NCCER data breach were notified beginning on April 27, 2026 (a sample notice is pictured below).
What You Can Do After the NCCER Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the NCCER data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force NCCER to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
