Minnesota Epilepsy Group, which operates three clinics and partners with three Minnesota hospitals, has reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to its computer network.

According to a notice on Minnesota Epilepsy Group’s website, the breach was first discovered on April 7, 2026. An investigation aided by a forensic security firm determined that an unauthorized third party may have accessed and acquired files from its network at various points between March 19 and April 10, 2026.

An analysis of the files that may have been compromised determined on May 18 that, varying by individual, names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical treatment information, and health insurance information may have been exposed in the Minnesota Epilepsy Group data breach.

Minnesota Epilepsy Group began mailing notification letters to potentially impacted individuals on June 5.
